BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800

Desing:

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 doesn't stray too far from the usual medley of solid feeling hardware crafted by them, but it's their very first one to employ a sliding portrait QWERTY form factor – something that's rare in itself across the board. Chrome plates accent a majority of the front and sides which is then combined with a plastic rear cover that employs a patterned soft touch coating.  The bottom of the handset is curved, which essentially provides for a natural grip in your hand.

Characteristics:

All in one design:
A fluid all-touch display plus slide-out QWERTY keyboard provide an incredible multimedia experience, while never compromising efficient typing with the classic BlackBerry keyboard.

Blackberry 7 OS:
Get the next-generation BlackBerry OS software on the BlackBerry Torch 9800. It has evolved to deliver smoother, faster multimedia experiences and breakthrough technologies.

BlackBerry Browser:
The BlackBerry® 7 browser supports HTML5 video and provides a seamless loading, scrolling and zooming experience that's super fast.

Augmented reality:Augmented reality on the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is enabled with the digital compass and accelerometer. With the Wikitude World Browser, it provides an exciting new way to interact and socialize with the world around you.

Voice-activated universal search:With speech-to-text translation, you can search for files, email, contacts, music and more and even search the web without typing a thing.

Gaming:
The Torch has a big display that makes you want to experience 3D apps and games.
To date we haven't seen that many BlackBerry apps or games take advantage of 3D graphics. With the Torch, you will be missing out on a few of the 3D games available on other BlackBerry devices like PBA Bowling 3D, Need for Speed Shift 3D, and Tank Recon 3D, but it's not as if there is (yet) a massive library of 3D games available. Once there are more BlackBerry devices with 3D graphics capabilities in the market I'm sure we'll see developers ramping up their efforts here.

Camera and video
Thanks to a 5 MP camera with flash, and advanced features, it's easy to capture those spontaneous moments. Or take a high quality video like a pro with 720p HD video recording on the BlackBerry Torch 9810.

Music:
The included media player on selected BlackBerry® smartphones vividly plays video files and robustly plays music and audio files – so the fun always goes with you1. Use wireless Bluetooth® stereo headphones or speakers to enjoy your music. Shuffle your songs or enjoy your favorite playlist while you reply to messages
Watch a news or sports clip while you’re on the go. Expand your storage and make room
for all your media files with a microSD card7

Performance:

BlackBerry 7 does more than just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Graphical menus welcome you and intuitive navigation gives you the freedom to explore with ease. While you're at it, catch up on all of your social networking updates in one view with social feeds. Everything has been designed to give you a more visual, fluid and dynamic experience that helps stimulate your senses. It's like your BlackBerry smartphone with a complete makeover - all the good stuff is still there, it just looks, feels and acts better than ever.

Final Thoughts:

The good: The Blackberry Torch is the best among all the phones made for late, because it has many applications and uses.

The bad: In tests done before the BlackBerry Curve 9800 could not get even a victory against the iPhone 4.

The Bottom line: the Torch is the best BlackBerry, but offers little competition for the array of alternative smartphones like the iPhone or Droid 2.
